Late Again

Late Again

and set beside the tree.
The greeting cards are written
with messages therein.
Haven’t missed a single soul
on my Christmas list.
I’ve called the friends and kinfolk,
invited them to feast
on turkey, ham, and goodies,
at dinner Christmas Day.
Carols in the background,
as we decorate the tree.
All rooms are clean and shining,
no clutter here in sight.
Oh, dear me, it’s all a lie,
on this year’s Christmas night.
